SEDAN chair

This Sedan chair was made to order for 30” doll.

Litters of this design were called after the town of Sedan in France and were popular amongst the gentry on the cramped and crowded streets of European cities in the XVII and XVIII centuries.

Their use allowed the passenger to keep their shoes clean and the detachable roof allowed for the tall, elaborate headdresses sported by fashionable ladies.
